The Bicentennial Carillon Book was compiled by William De Turk and published in 1976 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States, marked by the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It contains American patriotic music as well as famous American folk songs, hymn tunes, and early popular music. In 2021, the book ceased publication and the selections are now sold individually, save for two, which the GCNA Board of Directors recognized do not appropriately celebrate the history and culture of the United States.
