Moonglades illustrates the subtle changes and shifts in moonlight across two nocturnal scenes. Slow, syncopated melodies and gentle rising gestures depict beams of light hitting tranquil waters during the first piece. The second hones in on the motion of individual rays, following flickers of brightness with tumbling triplet passages and exploring changes between the lighter, more delicate upper register and the darker, murkier sound of the low bells.
