A Brazilian Suite for carillon was commissioned by the University of Chicago Rockefeller Chapel's carillon master Joey Brink, in celebration of the 2018 Rockefeller Carillon New Music Festival. The suite in six movements is a collection of eight childhood songs from the Brazilian folklore. As there is limited carillon activity in Brazil, the concept of the piece builds an interesting bridge between these two cultures by bringing children's songs from abroad to the carillon repertoire. Each movement is based on an anonymous children's songs that are sung throughout Brazil.
The first performance was given at the University of Chicago Rockefeller Memorial Chapel on May 25, 2018.
