I moved to New York City in late-June 2022, and before-hand (naturally), I searched for carillons within the area. As of writing this, there are only two traditional carillons in the city: the giant Laura Spelman Rockefeller Carillon at Riverside Church and the 26-bell carillon at Saint Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue. After many inquiries about the carillon with the church and a gig in October 2022, I eventually was hired by Saint Thomas Church to be their carillonneur in November 2022.
During this time, I decided to write a small collection of works that fit within the peculiar 26-bell range of this carillon. The original range of these works was concert B2—C5 (transposition nil); as this range is far from conventional, I have transposed these works to fit on a standard 2.5-octave instrument and notated for a 1.5-octave pedalboard (can still be played on a single octave pedalboard). If your instrument can accommodate the original range and concert pitches, I have a personal preference for performing the works as originally conceived; however, if your instrument can't accommodate this range and/or significantly transposes down, then these transposed works still work wonderfully.
If you are interested in the original, non-transposed works, feel free to reach out to me, and I can send a PDF/physical copy to you.
